Hello! I figured it was a good time for another “Que Pasa at the Latina’s” post. I mentioned in my last tutorial that I have been going through some things in the background which is why I was away for a little bit… truth be told, things have been a little overwhelming with my kids having so many activities at school that have required me to be involved one way or another.

In addition, I still haven’t finished unpacking….

It’s terrible, I know!!!! I’m so ashamed….

There are so many boxes in the basement that I hate venturing down there simply because it is a constant reminder of what I need (but don’t want to tackle).

But the truth is I need to tackle it and the rest of the clutter that has been causing me unnecessary stress so I decided to bite the bullet and buy Marie Kondo’s book on decluttering and organization – more specifically the Konmari method that everyone has been raving about.

This is the first time I have ever done this, but I feel I need to get rid of the “stuff” in my home that I just don’t need and hopefully that will help remove the “stuff” in my head that can cause overwhelm. I am excited to get started and am excited to share my experience with the whole process.

Who knows?!?! Maybe this will inspire a few of you as well and we can even go through the process together.

Also, for some time I have been wanting to create a free printable library for you all to download simple decor artwork for your home and I am glad to say that I have started already.

I will be releasing some sweet printables for Spring and Easter in a couple of days so stay tuned for that email! Here is a quick example of one the prints below!

Also, if you recall, we recently transformed our littlest’s bedroom where I showed you how to paint a buffalo check wall. Well, that only means one thing… that we are on to our next project.

Right now we have been tackling our master bedroom and then we will move on to our oldest’s room. I will be sharing the “before” pictures with you in the next few days as well.

I will leave you with two words that describe the before of my master bedroom…. “Mexican restaurant”…. oh yeah, I’m totally serious! Stay tuned!

Something else I have been working on is my YouTube channel. I have been surprised at the support and growth it has had over the past couple of months. I’m already getting close to 2,000 subscribers and when I do I will be hosting a giveaway!

On my channel I share organizational tips, like this one where I used Dollar Tree products, fabric tutorials like my most popular video on felt flowers and transformations like the recent one I did for the $5 Goodwill challenge where I created a beautiful vignette on one of my nightstands with probably the most inexpensive Goodwill find yet!

My plan is to create a video for each blog post since some people are more visual…

So if you haven’t subscribed make sure you do here to check out more videos coming your way!

That’s it for now my friends!

I will see you in a couple of days!

GIVEAWAY ANNOUNCEMENT AT THE END!

Hey there friends! It’s been a while and I have sincerely missed reaching out to you all! Boy has it been a hectic month. Buying and selling a home with 3 little kids has been the hardest thing I have ever done in my life! We have now been at our new home just shy of a month. Things are finally starting to settle down (even though I still have a ton of boxes to unload ?).

And by settling down, I mean we have been getting used to living in the new home, not that things have actually slowed down one bit. The very first week of our move, our 2 kids started school. The good thing was that it was the same schools they would have attended had we stayed in our old house so that helped.

We try to enjoy our new neighborhood whenever possible, even though our time is extremely limited right now since we are still unpacking. Our neighborhood is really tranquil and we even have our own lake which is really nice.

Here’s a little view of the lake:

I cannot wait to see what it looks like with the changing of the season.

Our favorite spot in the new home is our keeping room and is where we spend half our time. Here we are eating on the floor – this was the first day we “officially” moved in. That fireplace and those beams are what sold us on the house.

I have some great plans for this place that I cannot wait to share (they do include painting the walls ?). EVERY wall will need to be painted so stay tuned for some great “before” and “afters”.

Oh and that light fixture is going to be gone soon.

%name Que Pasa at The Latinas No. 3

In addition, I’m starting 2 business ventures (in addition to my stock photography site) and I cannot wait to share a little more once I get a little more settled in and am ready to give out more details.

And finally, as if I didn’t have enough on my plate, we baptized our son over Labor Day weekend and have had family over from other states and my homeland, Puerto Rico.

Below is the little guy with his 2 sisters (in white) and his 2 cousins from out of town. We have had a blast with our family these past few days which has been nice from all the changes going on in our lives. I know our kids are super grateful.

He thought he was the cutest little guy in that white suit. He wouldn’t take it off!

Also, I have teamed up with some great Home Decor accounts on Instagram to give you some great home design inspiration. Each week we ask people to share their decor under the #MyDarlingDecor hashtag, we vote for our favorite and feature the account and the image on all of our feeds! It’s been a lot of fun so definitely check it out here and look for the following image:

Lastly, I wanted to mention that I have teamed up with a great company to bring you an awesome giveaway! The winner will receive a $100 gift card! More details will be in your inbox before the end of the week so stay tuned so you can enter!

Please tell me I’m not the only one dealing with so many changes right now. Tell me what you have been up to below!

Que Pasa at the Latina’s No. 2

Hi there! As you know, I just started a “Que Pasa” series (click here for the first one) to give you a better look into my life and to keep you posted on what’s happening behind the scenes on the blog.

ONE:

We actually just got back from vacation – we spent 7 relaxing days in Panama City Beach, Florida. My kiddos loved the beach and couldn’t have had more fun. And this actually was one of the vacations we actually spent less money on! I will have a post coming up about the many ways we saved money and still had a great time!

While there, my littlest turned 2! I cannot believe she is already 2! Time flies and all I can think of is that she won’t be my baby for much longer! ?

My son is the hardest kid to photograph, by the way. I literally had to tell him to stop playing and look at the camera for mommy. And that’s what you see below.

%name Que Pasa at the Latinas No. 2 %name Que Pasa at the Latinas No. 2 %name Que Pasa at the Latinas No. 2

And while we had so much fun and actually got some much needed rest (since I just finished the first phase of my kitchen update), I was happy to be back home and get back at it again cause I have so many things planned!

TWO:

I started a YouTube channel for my blog! YAY! Excited and nervous all at the same time. I don’t have anything up just yet so I will announce here once I have my first video up so you can check it out and tell me what you think, but if you are super eager, here is the link if you want to go ahead and subscribe. ?

I have several projects lined up that I will be posting tutorials on.

THREE:

I am also currently in the process of getting my house painted. By that I mean, I have submitted my color selection to my HOA, which they denied and I have appealed. UGH! It has been a little frustrating, but it is what it is. I know HOA’s have a purpose, but it’s not like I am painting my house purple or anything.

Here’s what my house currently looks like:

TLND House before Que Pasa at the Latinas No. 2

It’s a beautiful shade of orange and doodoo brown shutters.

Yes, that is the adjective I actually use for it. Can you tell how much I hate it?

It has great potential though despite it’s unattractive colors.I am trying to get as far away as possible from the orange and I would like to minimize the orange in the stone (that I cannot remove).

So, right now I am trying to go for the following look:

Screen Shot 2017 05 15 at 1.01.28 PM Que Pasa at the Latinas No. 2 Screen Shot 2017 05 15 at 12.41.38 PM Que Pasa at the Latinas No. 2 Screen Shot 2017 05 15 at 12.42.00 PM Que Pasa at the Latinas No. 2

Aren’t they stunning? But my HOA came back and stated it was too “beachy” — WHAT THE?!

And they said that the green didn’t go with the orange stone, so as of right now we are at a stand still. I will keep you posted!

FOUR:

I would like to also announce that I have teamed up with some amazing Home Decor and DIY bloggers to bring you some amazing round up posts and the first one goes live tomorrow. We are answering some great design questions (some of which you may have had yourself) and each of us will take our turn answering them. Really excited about this one and I can’t wait to share it with you!

FIVE:

I’m getting a REAL logo for the blog! I have recently teamed up with a great artist and I love how everything is turning out. It’s going to be simple, yet fun, but still a little professional because I have a few more things I am working on and I need things to look amazing. I will be revealing the new logo very soon. Eeeek!

Okay, that’s it for now… I think…. I’m sure I forgot something.

I will see you back in your inbox tomorrow and if you have any thoughts on the house, I would love to hear what you have to say!

I’d love to connect with you on social media!

Que Pasa at the Latina’s No.1

Hello friends! I have been wanting to incorporate a little more personal stuff on the blog and I have even done it sporadically over the past couple of years, however, I plan on making it a regular series and call it “Que pasa at the Latina’s?”

Since I have 3 kiddos and 2 blogs things can get a little hectic and while I may be super busy behind the scenes you might hear crickets on this end so I figured it would be kinda fun to share what goes on in our daily lives when I’m not doing a transformation.

And boy do I have some amazing news!

If you have been following me on Facebook (which you totally should), you probably already saw the image I shared below:

%name Que Pasa at the Latinas No.1

Well, with that image I shared that I have partnered with Sherwin Williams in order to complete several projects throughout our home this year and bring you some amazing tutorials!

I just completed my first project for them and while I cannot share just yet what it is, I can say that the post will go live in May and they totally loved it! It is the biggest transformation we have done to date and I could’t have partnered with a better paint company to do it with!

More details coming soon!

Also, if you have followed me for a bit, you know that I totally love shopping on Craigslist. I got my dining chairs (that I reupholstered) on Craigslist, my china cabinet which I was able to restore, and even my King bed that I painted to match the rest of my bedroom furniture.

Well, I just scored another beauty!!! And you won’t believe how much it cost!

Que Pasa at the Latinas Que Pasa at the Latinas No.1

I scored this china hutch for only $65 and it is in pristine condition!

Plus, the best part was that I only had to clean it with Pledge and it was ready to go! Sometimes the stars align perfectly and you find that perfect piece on Craigslist. And we have been pretty fortunate to have had great experiences so far with both buying and selling.

Now I have to make sure the rest of the breakfast area coordinates with it. Which means more projects!!! Woot woot!

Then as far as family, my oldest daughter has been taking modeling classes and she is close to finishing her school which is really exciting. I have seen her blossom and it’s so great to see her gain confidence since she can be really shy.

Here are a couple of images. The left was in the beginning and you can tell she was still a little shy. The right was further along and you can see she is starting to get a little more confident.

TL saturday 11 mar 17 retouched 22 Que Pasa at the Latinas No.1 TL saturday 25 mar retouched 2 1 Que Pasa at the Latinas No.1

My son has been enjoying playing soccer and we just ordered his pictures, so as soon as we get those in I will share too! It is really hard to get him to sit still during pictures so I hope they come out good.

And finally my littlest, well…. she’s a hot little mess! It seems like it was just yesterday that we brought her home and now she will be 2 years old next month! Time flies!

%name Que Pasa at the Latinas No.1

And that’s it for this week’s updates! I’ll be sharing more behind-the-scenes and updates soon!
