Hot Cocoa Tiered Tray

Hot Cocoa Tiered Tray Hot Cocoa Tiered Tray

Hot Cocoa Tiered Tray

Hello and Happy Day 12 of my 12 Days of Christmas! We made it and I thought I would end it with something simple and sweet. I love hot chocolate, but frankly I don’t have an area for a whole decked out cocoa bar. And frankly I don’t need one.

I am a simple girl and only need a few ingredients for my hot cocoa: hot cocoa powder, milk and marshmallows. Seriously that is it for me and I am a happy girl.

No bombs, no cinnamon, no peppermint… nada!

So I thought I would share my hot cocoa tiered tray with you all in case you are like me and prefer the simple is better approach.

CHECK OUT the rest of days in case you missed one!

I got this tiered tray from Hobby Lobby a couple of years ago (they still carry it). And it’s perfect for festive displays like this.

Hot Cocoa Tiered Tray 6 Hot Cocoa Tiered Tray

I like to put hot cocoa powder and marshmallows into mason jars to give it a nice rustic look. And even though I don’t like peppermint in my hot cocoa, I always like to add candy canes to my tiered tray to add to the Christmas feel.

I even add a little ribbon to the mason jar to make it more festive.

Hot Cocoa Tiered Tray 2 Hot Cocoa Tiered Tray

I made this cute beaded garland with an ornament at the end that reads “Hot Cocoa Station” – you can see how easy it was to make in this video.

Hot Cocoa Tiered Tray 3 Hot Cocoa Tiered Tray

I added a few more touches like a birdhouse ornament from Day 4, some tea towels, a mini cake stand and white ceramic creamer.

The topper was a Dollar Tree DIY from my classic Christmas DIY collection.

I think everything ties in so well together and I cannot wait to enjoy hot cocoas this Christmas season with my kiddos who enjoy them as much as I do.

I hope you had fun during these 12 Days of Christmas and were inspired to DIY a few things this season. It was a lot of fun, but I am happy to say that I am done with Christmas decor this year. Whew!

I am looking forward to enjoying the Christmas season with my family and I hope you have a wonderful Christmas as well.

I am hoping to cook up something huge before the end of the year, let’s see if I can pull it off. Check out my second channel for more behind the scenes at what’s going on next door!

I will see you all soon!

Until then… adios!

Dollar Tree Mini Christmas Tree Decor

Dollar Tree Mini Christmas Tree Decor Dollar Tree Mini Christmas Tree DecorDollar Tree Mini Christmas Tree Decor

Hello friends! Hope you are doing well! Today is Day 11 of my 12 Days of Christmas and I am going to have to apologize from the get-go. My plan was to create a detailed post on these Christmas trees, but my husband has been dealing with the manflu and since I have been taking care of him, guess who now is feeling under the weather???

Ugh! I love taking care of family when they are sick, I just don’t want to get sick myself, but here we are…

So I will have to give my self a little grace and take it easy or else there won’t be a Day 12. I did try to make it up by adding 2 different DIYs and one of them in a Pottery Barn Dupe!

I was able to edit the video tutorial for both, but I didn’t have enough strength to edit the images… Video is included  below for you. All you have to do is click PLAY.

CHECK OUT all of the 12 Days of Christmas here!

DAY 1 | DAY 2 |DAY 3 |DAY 4| DAY 5 | DAY 6 | DAY 7 | DAY 8| DAY 9| DAY 10 | DAY 11 |DAY 12

Here are what the first set looks like.

Dollar Tre Mini Christmas Tree Decor 4 Dollar Tree Mini Christmas Tree Decor

I used popsicle sticks and thumbtacks to create the look of metal corners on the larger crate. I have a full and detailed tutorial on how to create a faux galvanized look on anything in this Youtube video.

Dollar Tre Mini Christmas Tree Decor 2 Dollar Tree Mini Christmas Tree Decor

The larger trees are new from Dollar Tree this year and I used white pom poms to act as snow.

Dollar Tre Mini Christmas Tree Decor 3 Dollar Tree Mini Christmas Tree Decor

For the second DIY, I recreated the trees below. The cheeseboards from Pottery Barn are so pretty but too expensive so I recreated the look for less.

Screen Shot 2020 12 09 at 5.02.06 PM Dollar Tree Mini Christmas Tree Decor

I used Dollar Tree wood tree cutouts and painted them with my favorite white chalk paint and Aged Glaze to give them a similar look.

And even though these aren’t cheeseboards, you can still enjoy how closely they resemble the original inspiration pieces and use them as decor.

If you are curious and wish to make these yourself, please check out the fun and easy to follow tutorial below.

Thank you so much for following along and I will see you all tomorrow

5 Minute Dollar Tree Christmas Wreaths

Dollar Tree Farmhouse Christmas Wreath 5 Minute Dollar Tree Christmas Wreaths

5 Minute Dollar Tree Christmas Wreaths

Hey there friends! Hope you are all doing well! Today is day 9 of the 12 days of Christmas and this time we are doing some 5 minute farmhouse inspired Christmas wreaths out of Dollar Tree items.

I didn’t mean to make most of these Dollar Tree DIYs, however, I had the items so I might as well use them.

There will be 2 versions of these wreaths and I will show the second below, however, I will only share the instructions for the white one. If you wish to see the red and khaki one you can always check out the Youtube video on my channel.

CHECK OUT all of the 12 Days of Christmas here!

I had some of these cloths from Dollar Tree on hand and you can find them in the automotive section.

Dollar Tree Christmas Wreaths 1 5 Minute Dollar Tree Christmas Wreaths

So I cut them into strips and began to wrap them around these Dollar Tree wreaths. The smaller ones come 2 to a pack. I added hot glue every so often to the wreath to make sure the cloth was secured on properly.

Dollar Tree Christmas Wreath 2 5 Minute Dollar Tree Christmas Wreaths

Next I had this wooden tree form that I had removed from a Dollar Tree farmhouse truck for another DIY and decided to stain it with my Aged Glaze that I have been using on everything lately.

It just has the perfect stain color!

Dollar Tree Christmas Wreath 3 5 Minute Dollar Tree Christmas WreathsOf course, one was not enough and I came across these trees in this Dollar Tree pack. This was the same pack the snowflakes on my cork ornaments came from.

Dollar Tree Christmas Wreath 4 5 Minute Dollar Tree Christmas WreathsI decided to stain those as well. I removed the adhesive from the back and stained the backs (it was just easier that way!).

Dollar Tree Christmas Wreath 5 5 Minute Dollar Tree Christmas Wreaths

Next, I hot glued them onto the wreath. Easy peasy!

Dollar Tree Christmas Wreath 6 5 Minute Dollar Tree Christmas Wreaths

I took some ticking striped ribbon and created a bow and hot glued it on as well.

Dollar Tree Christmas Wreath 7 5 Minute Dollar Tree Christmas Wreaths Then with a little bit of twine I hung it in my kitchen. And that was it for this simple white wreath!

Dollar Tree Christmas Wreath 8 5 Minute Dollar Tree Christmas Wreaths

I love how it looks on my faux cutting boards on my kitchen wall.

And here is the khaki and red version.

These are super sweet and quick to make if you find yourself running out of time for your holiday decorating! Which one is your fave?

As always, don’t forget to share with your crafty friends!

DIY Cookies for Santa Tray

Cookies for Santa Tray DIY Cookies for Santa TrayDIY Cookies for Santa Tray

Happy Monday! Hope you are all well!

Today is Day 7 from my 12 Days of Christmas and I have another easy DIY for you! This time I am up-cycling an old and unused tray that I have had for years. I was seriously about to get rid of it by donating it, but then I thought I would give it one last try at redemption.

CHECK OUT all of the 12 Days of Christmas here!

DAY 1 | DAY 2 |DAY 3 |DAY 4| DAY 5 | DAY 6 | DAY 7 | DAY 8| DAY 9| DAY 10 | DAY 11 |DAY 12

*Some of the links below may be affiliate links. Please see full disclosure for more details*

Cookies for Santa Tray 1 DIY Cookies for Santa Tray First thing I did was prime it with spray primer (you can see some upcoming DIY’s coming your way).

Trying to hit 2 birds with one stone there. 😉

Cookies for Santa Tray 2 DIY Cookies for Santa TrayNext, I spray painted it with some leftover white satin spray paint that was literally almost out (but I made it work!).

I use a spray tent whenever I spray paint inside my garage (especially in the winter). It’s the best thing ever for spray painting! I think this is actually one of the things I have used the most in my DIY years. It’s great to capture overspray! If you haven’t gotten one, it’s definitely a must have for the Christmas wish list!

Then with my Cricut Maker I made this cute vinyl decal. This decal is also available in my shop.

Cookies for Santa Tray 3 DIY Cookies for Santa Tray

I tried very carefully to place it in the center. Talk about pressure!

Cookies for Santa Tray 4 DIY Cookies for Santa Tray

Then I got the crazy idea to hand paint some holly leaves and berries on 2 corners of the decal.

Cookies for Santa Tray 5 DIY Cookies for Santa Tray

For the berries, I used a berry off a Dollar Tree bush, put it on a toothpick, then used it as a stamp!

Talk about craftiness! 😂

Cookies for Santa Tray 6 DIY Cookies for Santa Tray

It worked out pretty good actually. I used the color Crimson by Waverly for this.

Cookies for Santa Tray 7 DIY Cookies for Santa Tray

And that was it!!! Eventually I will probably seal it with a clear coat, but since I will just be using it once this Christmas it should be okay for now.

Cookies for Santa Tray 8 DIY Cookies for Santa Tray

I am sure the kids are going to be excited to actually have a tray this year to put mommy’s amazing sugar cookies on!

Seriously, if you haven’t tried the recipe you totally should!

Cookies for Santa Tray 9 DIY Cookies for Santa Tray

And I guess the hollies don’t look thaaaaat baaaaad! 😝

Cookies for Santa Tray 10 DIY Cookies for Santa Tray

That’s it for today! I hope you all are still enjoying these DIYs!

I will see you all in the next one. Until then… adios!

Trash to Treasure Cork Ornaments

*Some of the links below may be affiliate links. Please see full disclosure for more details*

Hi there! Hope you are well!

Today I am sharing some ornament ideas made from wine corks. There is so much inspiration online and since I already tackled my largest cork project many years ago, I figured something smaller was in order. In addition to these ornaments I have a bonus DIY towards the end.

So for the ornaments you will need to cut them in half and the best thing to do is steam them first for a few minutes. This will cause them to puff up and become softer and easier to cut. Don’t worry, once they cool off they go back to their normal size.

CHECK OUT all of the 12 Days of Christmas here!

DAY 1 | DAY 2 |DAY 3 |DAY 4| DAY 5 | DAY 6 | DAY 7 | DAY 8| DAY 9| DAY 10 | DAY 11 |DAY 12

You can also watch all of these video tutorials as well on on the playlist and see these back to back on the playlist!

Trash to Treasure Cork Ornaments 2 Trash to Treasure Cork Ornaments

Simply use a serrated kitchen knife to cut them down.

Trash to Treasure Cork Ornaments 3 Trash to Treasure Cork Ornaments

Then it’s time to assemble. You will need 13 cork halves for this one. Assemble them with 3 at the top and 2 at the bottom with one in the center.

Trash to Treasure Cork Ornaments 4 Trash to Treasure Cork Ornaments

Use hot glue to adhere them together. Then, add one cork to each of the ends. You will get the shape below.

Trash to Treasure Cork Ornaments 5 Trash to Treasure Cork Ornaments

If you want a smaller one leave the end pieces out and only do the first step. You will only need 7 cork halves.

Trash to Treasure Cork Ornaments 6 Trash to Treasure Cork Ornaments

I wanted to add a little something extra so I got these small snowflakes from a pack at Dollar Tree and painted them white.

Trash to Treasure Cork Ornaments 7 Trash to Treasure Cork OrnamentsThen I used school glue and added fine white glitter to add some sparkle.

Trash to Treasure Cork Ornaments 8 Trash to Treasure Cork OrnamentsOnce that was dry I hot glued it to both the large and small ornaments.

Trash to Treasure Cork Ornaments 9 Trash to Treasure Cork OrnamentsFinally, I added a ribbon to the back of each to hang them.

Trash to Treasure Cork Ornaments 10 Trash to Treasure Cork Ornaments

For the next DIY, I used 37 whole corks. These were actually the more rubbery ones, not true “cork” but they work just fine.

Trash to Treasure Cork Ornaments 11 Trash to Treasure Cork Ornaments

I painted 24 of them in my favorite white chalk paint and set them to dry. They can suck in a bit of the paint so you may need to do more than one coat.

Next, you want to assemble the ones remaining that are not painted. Follow the pattern below: 1,4,3,4,1.

Trash to Treasure Cork Ornaments 12 Trash to Treasure Cork Ornaments

Finally, take the painted ones and glue them onto the perimeter as shown below.

Trash to Treasure Cork Ornaments 13 Trash to Treasure Cork OrnamentsI came back and touched up several areas with paint and I then was done.

*Now, I plan on using this as a coaster during the winter for hot beverages, so I didn’t bother to seal it. If I were to use it with any cold drinks that might sweat I would definitely add a layer of clear wax.

Trash to Treasure Cork Ornaments 14 Trash to Treasure Cork OrnamentsIt’s the perfect size for mugs!!!!

Trash to Treasure Cork Ornaments 15 Trash to Treasure Cork Ornaments

And here are those cute ornaments.

Trash to Treasure Cork Ornaments 16 Trash to Treasure Cork OrnamentsThey are perfectly neutral and thrifty!

Trash to Treasure Cork Ornaments 17 Trash to Treasure Cork OrnamentsAny wine lover like myself would love any of these as gifts for the holidays as well!

I hope you are enjoying these 12 Days of Christmas and I hope you liked today’s DIY. Don’t forget to share with your friends!

Dollar Tree Birdhouse Ornaments

NEW Dollar Tree Birdhouse Ornaments Dollar Tree Birdhouse Ornaments
Dollar Tree Birdhouse Ornaments

Hey everyone! It’s Day 4 and I am still alive! Today I am making these adorable little Dollar Tree Birdhouse Ornaments that have yet to be seen (well I haven’t seen any 😁) so you can imagine how excited I am.

The best part about this is that Dollar Tree is currently flooded with these in the craft section because these are for Spring so you should definitely find plenty!

I chose these 3 different styles but they do have others as well.

Dollar Tree Birdhouse Ornaments 2 Dollar Tree Birdhouse Ornaments

In addition, I decided to give them all different paint jobs so that you can see several options.

I chose to paint 2 of the house “bodies” with my favorite white chalk paint and the other I decided to use my Rustoleum’s Aged Glaze that I have been using on everything lately to give one of the houses a stained look.

Dollar Tree Birdhouse Ornaments 3 Dollar Tree Birdhouse Ornaments

I also painted another house’s roof with the same aged glaze.

Dollar Tree Birdhouse Ornaments 4 Dollar Tree Birdhouse Ornaments

On that ornament, I also decided to also paint a red ticking stripe with some Waverly chalk paint.

Then on the house with the white roof, I wanted it to have the look of snow. So, I decided to use some school glue and add glitter to the roof. Once the glitter dried, I sprayed it with some Mod Podge Ultra in order to make sure the glitter wouldn’t fall off.

Dollar Tree Birdhouse Ornaments 6 Dollar Tree Birdhouse Ornaments

I added a few more details like this cute little bow from another Dollar Tree ornament that I didn’t use.

Dollar Tree Birdhouse Ornaments 7 Dollar Tree Birdhouse Ornaments

And I added some berries to the one with the black chalk painted roof. I wanted to create a wreath around the entrance hole.

Dollar Tree Birdhouse Ornaments 8 Dollar Tree Birdhouse Ornaments

Lastly, I added a little bit of greenery and some tiny berries to the last house.

Dollar Tree Birdhouse Ornaments 9 Dollar Tree Birdhouse Ornaments

Finally in order to hang them, I used the same hooks that I used on my glass ornaments and simply screwed them into the little roofs. I added some ribbon and that was it!

Dollar Tree Birdhouse Ornaments 11 Dollar Tree Birdhouse Ornaments

Aren’t these the cutest ornaments (besides my last ones 😉) ever?!?!?

Dollar Tree Birdhouse Ornaments 13 Dollar Tree Birdhouse Ornaments

And the possibilities with colors and accessories are truly endless…

Dollar Tree Birdhouse Ornaments 14 Dollar Tree Birdhouse Ornaments

I think the little bow on the one below was just perfect.

Which one of these is your favorite?

I hope you liked these sweet little ornaments and if you want, you can always watch the video tutorial on my channel!

Dollar Tree Advent Wreath

Dollar Tree Advent Wreath Dollar Tree Advent Wreath

Dollar Tree Advent Wreath

Happy Day 3 of !2 Days of Christmas! I am excited for today’s DIY since I have never actually made an advent wreath before.

Also before I start I wanted to share some happy news! If you follow me on Instagram you probably already know, but one of my DIYs was featured in the special Christmas issue of Country Sampler Farmhouse Magazine! %name Dollar Tree Advent Wreath

I even got a full page spread!!!!! How cool is that?!? I was so excited and honored and humbled…. frankly I couldn’t believe that one of my DIYs made it’s way to this nationally distributed magazine. 😱

%name Dollar Tree Advent Wreath

You can see how I made those featured ornaments here and if you wish to get your own copy you can always order one online or you can purchase them at your local craft store or grocery store. My dad got his at Publix 😉.

Okay, let’s get right into it and as always you can find the video tutorial for this on my channel as well.

*Some of the links below may be affiliate links. Please see full disclose for more details*

You will need at least 2 bags of these cut pieces of birch from Dollar Tree.  If you wish, you can always use more in order to make it larger, but definitely no less than 2.

Advent Wreath 1 Dollar Tree Advent Wreath

You will also need candles. I used these LED battery operated ones since I have little kids, but you can use the regular wax candles. Keep them the traditional purple and pink or go neutral as I did.

Advent Wreath 2 Dollar Tree Advent Wreath

Next, you want to hot glue all of the pieces together. You will start with one ring, but be sure you have enough for two layers (one on top of the other).

Advent Wreath 3 Dollar Tree Advent Wreath

When you place the second layer make sure you stagger the pieces as best as you can. This will create a stronger hold. Hot glue each piece to the ones below and next to each other.

Advent Wreath 4 Dollar Tree Advent Wreath

After that is done, hot glue the stands to each of the candles on all 4 corners. Try to get it as square as possible.

Advent Wreath 5 Dollar Tree Advent Wreath

Next, get yourself some flower bushes. I chose these white poinsettias in two different styles. Pull off the flowers from the stems as well as some of the leaves.

Advent Wreath 6 Dollar Tree Advent Wreath

Use some of the leaves on either side of the candle stands to hide them. You can add more greenery throughout as well.

Advent Wreath 7 Dollar Tree Advent Wreath

I then began to hot glue the poinsettias onto the wreath.

Advent Wreath 8 Dollar Tree Advent Wreath

You can make their placement completely random or you can do as I did. I did two mesh poinsettias with one glittery poinsettia in between each of the candles.

Advent Wreath 9 Dollar Tree Advent Wreath

And that was it! So simple and elegant. I also love the contrast of the rustic birch and the white blooms.

Advent Wreath 10 Dollar Tree Advent Wreath

Please let me know what you think of this little advent wreath! Have you made one recently?

Advent Wreath 11 Dollar Tree Advent Wreath

I hope you are enjoying these quick DIYs and I will see you back here for the next one!

Until then… adios!

DIY Dollar Tree Glass Ornaments

Dollar Tree DIY Glass Ornaments DIY Dollar Tree Glass Ornaments

DIY Dollar Tree Glass Ornaments

Happy Wednesday everyone! Hope you are having a fabulous week! Today I am sharing another DIY… as a matter of fact, I am doing the 12 Days of Christmas on my Youtube channel where I share one DIY every day for 12 days and I am wondering if I will keep up here. 🥴

Here’s hoping! 🤞🏼

In order to get started on these DIY Dollar Tree Glass Ornaments you will need some of the little glass bottles below.

Yes, we are making glass ornaments! Cute little mini snow globe village ones that is…

Dollar Tree DIY Glass Ornaments 2 DIY Dollar Tree Glass Ornaments

You find the bottles you see above near the sand bags in the decor section at Dollar Tree. Remove the stickers and wash and dry them well….

Next, you will need these village accessories, also from Dollar Tree.

RELATED: DIY BALLARD DESIGNS CHRISTMAS TREE DUPE

Dollar Tree DIY Glass Ornaments 3 DIY Dollar Tree Glass Ornaments

I will be using the Christmas tree and one light post for each ornament.

Dollar Tree DIY Glass Ornaments 4 DIY Dollar Tree Glass OrnamentsSince the light post is too large for the bottle as is, I needed to cut it down, so I started by removing the snow on the bottom (it’s one piece that pops out). And then I cut the half wall side off.

The pieces are hollow and in order to prevent this from showing, I cut off the end of the half wall that I cut off and then glued them back together….

Dollar Tree DIY Glass Ornaments 5 DIY Dollar Tree Glass Ornaments

I just put them together like I did below and filled them with hot glue. Once the glue dried it was one piece.

Dollar Tree DIY Glass Ornaments 6 DIY Dollar Tree Glass Ornaments

After removing the bottom snow portion of the tree I filled the underneath area up (since it was also hollow) with hot glue and then placed it inside the bottle.

I couldn’t find my craft tweezers so a mini clothes pin had to do!

Dollar Tree DIY Glass Ornaments 7 DIY Dollar Tree Glass Ornaments

Then I added the light post. After those were dry I added a little bit of Dollar Tree white sand.

RELATED: DOLLAR TREE HIGH END ORNAMENTS

Dollar Tree DIY Glass Ornaments 8 DIY Dollar Tree Glass Ornaments

I added a couple of dots of hot glue to the cork top and placed it back on the bottle. This will ensure the cork doesn’t just slide off.

Dollar Tree DIY Glass Ornaments 9 DIY Dollar Tree Glass Ornaments

Afterwards, I tied a bow around the neck of the bottle.

Dollar Tree DIY Glass Ornaments 10 DIY Dollar Tree Glass Ornaments

And then I used this small hook (found in one of my picture hanging kits) to screw into the top of the cork so I could have a place to hang the ornament from.

Dollar Tree DIY Glass Ornaments 11 DIY Dollar Tree Glass Ornaments

With the addition of another piece of ribbon, I was done!

Dollar Tree DIY Glass Ornaments 12 DIY Dollar Tree Glass Ornaments

How adorable is this?!?! I love the delicateness of it all… and the fact that it’s actually glass so it doesn’t feel cheap.

Dollar Tree DIY Glass Ornaments 13 DIY Dollar Tree Glass Ornaments

These bottles are just the perfect size as well. Since they are glass they are heavier so you wouldn’t want anything bigger weighing down your branches.

I am so pleased with this one and I hope you enjoyed this too!

Dollar Tree Farmhouse Christmas Countdown

Dollar Tree Farhouse Christmas Countdown Dollar Tree Farmhouse Christmas Countdown

Dollar Tree Farmhouse Christmas Countdown

Hey everyone! Hope you have been having a wonderful start to this Christmas season. I have been creating videos on Youtube so don’t forget if you are not subscribed, please make sure to head on over to get even more inspiration. I will also be sharing specific videos at the end of the posts so make sure you scroll to the end.

For today’s DIY, I will be making a Dollar Tree Farmhouse Christmas Countdown that is brand new and never before seen!! This is part of my 12 Days of Christmas where I bring 1 Christmas DIY a day for 12 Days.

I was looking for something I can create that would be solely my own since there are so many options out there already so I made sure to include a free printable that I designed so you can make your own too. More on that in a bit…

Here is the item you will need from Dollar Tree. It’s not the cutest thing in the world, but it had instant potential in my opinion. Extra points if you can guess what that date means…

*Some of the links below are affiliate links. Please see disclosure for full details*

Dollar Tree Farhouse Christmas Countdown 2 Dollar Tree Farmhouse Christmas Countdown

>As always you can watch the video tutorial of this here<

First thing to do is remove all of the tags, then paint it with black chalk paint.

Dollar Tree Farhouse Christmas Countdown 3 Dollar Tree Farmhouse Christmas Countdown

My Folkart black chalk paint only requires one coat, but I did two so I could make sure the indentations from the original sign’s design did not show through.

Dollar Tree Farhouse Christmas Countdown 4 Dollar Tree Farmhouse Christmas Countdown

Next it was time for the printable, you can sign up to download these here.

It’s best to print them on card stock. I also have a version in Spanish as well.  You can use a paper trimmer or scissors to cut them. I like to leave a little bit of white on the exterior to showcase the border, but you can cut right on the line.

Dollar Tree Farhouse Christmas Countdown 5 Dollar Tree Farmhouse Christmas Countdown

Next, take a hole punch and punch the top centers. You want to make sure to punch in the exact same spot so they all hang evenly.

Dollar Tree Farhouse Christmas Countdown 6 Dollar Tree Farmhouse Christmas Countdown

Next, I cut the ends off of 4 jumbo popsicle stick for my frame hack. If you don’t have these sheers get them, they make projects like this so much easier!

Plus it’s a great gift for any fellow crafter. 😉

Dollar Tree Farhouse Christmas Countdown 7 Dollar Tree Farmhouse Christmas Countdown

Set those 4 popsicle sticks aside and get yourself some ribbon.

Dollar Tree Farhouse Christmas Countdown 8 Dollar Tree Farmhouse Christmas Countdown

I decided to layer mine and add this cute gingham ribbon from Dollar Tree.

Use hot glue for the ribbon and then cut the ribbon on the edges, enough to fold over onto the back of the sign and then glue those ends down as well. Next, hot glue the popsicle sticks to the back of the sign.

Dollar Tree Farhouse Christmas Countdown 9 Dollar Tree Farmhouse Christmas Countdown

You want to make sure you leave half of the popsicle hanging out from the original frame. This is where you will attach dowels to form a frame on the exterior of the sign. By doing this, you’re adding more surface area to glue the dowel down and make it more secure.

Dollar Tree Farhouse Christmas Countdown 10 Dollar Tree Farmhouse Christmas Countdown

I used my sheers to cut my 1/2″ dowels and then hot glued them down.

Finally, it was time to add a little finishing touch and I used a piece of greenery that I removed from a Dollar Tree ornament and placed it in the center of the sign.

Dollar Tree Farhouse Christmas Countdown 11 Dollar Tree Farmhouse Christmas Countdown

And that was it for this Countdown to Christmas DIY! I love how it turned out!

Happy Hump Day! Hope you are all are doing well on this very chilly day in Georgia. Last night we lit a fire in our fireplace for the first time since moving into our home and it was glorious!

Today I will be making two different versions of the ornament above so you can see how versatile this simple piece can be for your decor this season.

Dollar Tree sells these little wood pieces for the Christmas season. They come several to one pack. I am using this bell one below…

DIY Farmhouse Christmas Ornaments 2 DIY Farmhouse Christmas Ornaments

…as well as this snowflake one.

DIY Farmhouse Christmas Ornaments 1 DIY Farmhouse Christmas Ornaments

For each of these, I took the spackle that they sell at Dollar Tree and filled in the little holes at the top as well as the line across the bell piece.

I sanded them smooth and they painted them with my favorite white chalk paint.

DIY Farmhouse Christmas Ornaments 3 DIY Farmhouse Christmas Ornaments

I set those to dry and then I took this little hexagonal plague I purchased at Michael’s in their dollar section. It already had a little jute loop to hang it up.

DIY Farmhouse Christmas Ornaments 6 DIY Farmhouse Christmas Ornaments

I taped the inside up and painted the inside and outside of the frame. I used black chalk paint for this, but you can use whichever color you prefer.

DIY Farmhouse Christmas Ornaments 7 DIY Farmhouse Christmas Ornaments

Next, I took my Chalked Aged Glaze (this is the glaze I use to create a faux wood look on just about anything) and used it as a stain for this inside of the plaque.

DIY Farmhouse Christmas Ornaments 8 DIY Farmhouse Christmas Ornaments

I set that aside and went back to my smaller pieces. Since, I am really loving ticking stripes right now, I decided to add some to my bell. I chose to set it off to the side so I taped it off with washi tape and painted it black.

Then I removed the tape and once the paint was dry I did a perpendicular line to the first one, intersecting them on the bottom right.

DIY Farmhouse Christmas Ornaments 4 DIY Farmhouse Christmas Ornaments

Then to add the smaller stripes on either side I used a ruler and a sharpie.

DIY Farmhouse Christmas Ornaments 5 DIY Farmhouse Christmas Ornaments

Once done, I used these adhesive dot risers from Dollar Tree to raise the little snowflake and bell before placing them on the plaque.

DIY Farmhouse Christmas Ornaments 9 DIY Farmhouse Christmas Ornaments

I still used hot glue on the back of the snowflake and bell, because the risers don’t hold up as great with items that are a little heavier than paper or card-stock.

DIY Farmhouse Christmas Ornaments 10 DIY Farmhouse Christmas Ornaments

I then placed them in the centers of the plaques.

DIY Farmhouse Christmas Ornaments 11 DIY Farmhouse Christmas Ornaments

And that was it!

I LOVE how these turned out! They are rustic, farmhouse, neutral and just classic! They are also a great size so they are really noticeable on the Christmas tree.

DIY Farmhouse Christmas Ornaments 12 DIY Farmhouse Christmas Ornaments

And the bell with those ticking stripes! 😍

These are perfect for any farmhouse styled tree! And the color schemes and themes are endless! What do you think?

If you liked these you will also LOVE these other DIYs!

Dollar Tree Neutral Christmas Trees

Dollar Tree Neutral Christmas Trees

Happy Friday! Hope you all are doing well! The weekend is here and I am so excited!

I have nothing exciting planned except sleep. That’s fun right?

I have another super easy (and neutral) Dollar Tree DIY. In the image above 3 out of the 4 trees you see are Dollar Tree DIYs. I actually made two of them two years ago and I added a new one to the collection this year. I grouped them with the tall vine tree from Hobby Lobby to show that they can totally blend in with higher quality seasonal decor.

So let’s get started!

For this you will need one of those little terra-cotta pots you can get at Dollar Tree (they come in a pack of two). I chose to paint mine with my favorite white chalk paint, but you can use whatever color you desire. I only needed one coat for full coverage.

Dollar Tree Neutral Christmas Trees 1 Dollar Tree Neutral Christmas Trees

Next you are going to take a foam cone (from Dollar Tree’s floral section) and the new nautical rope they carry. Make sure to remove the black tape at the end before starting… you want to wrap the foam one starting from the bottom up.

Dollar Tree Neutral Christmas Trees 2 Dollar Tree Neutral Christmas Trees

In order to make it nice and clean take your time and pull the rope slightly taught and keep it level as you move up the cone. Add hot glue as you go. This tree will take one and a half ropes.

Dollar Tree Neutral Christmas Trees 3 Dollar Tree Neutral Christmas Trees

When you get to the top leave a little hole, fill it with hot glue, then stuff the end of the rope into the hole. This will give the top a clean seamless look.

Dollar Tree Neutral Christmas Trees 4 Dollar Tree Neutral Christmas Trees

Finally take some more foam (any kind you have on had). Glue it to the pot and then add glue to the top for the cone.

Dollar Tree Neutral Christmas Trees 5 Dollar Tree Neutral Christmas Trees

And that’s it! A super easy neutral tree!

Dollar Tree Neutral Christmas Trees 6 Dollar Tree Neutral Christmas Trees

These are currently on my mantle next to my latest large farmhouse sign DIY.

Dollar Tree Neutral Christmas Trees 7 Dollar Tree Neutral Christmas Trees

I am loving this neutral look right now, but if I ever want to add color to these trees it will be so easy to do. Simply add ribbon matching any future color schemes!

By the way those stocking holders are another Dollar Tree DIY and they can actually hold stuff!

Dollar Tree Neutral Christmas Trees 8 Dollar Tree Neutral Christmas Trees

And if you want to see how I created those two other trees you can simply watch the video below!

I hope you enjoyed another simple Dollar Tree DIY and I wish you a wonderful weekend!

Until the next one… adios!

Hello there! Hope everyone is doing well! Here in Georgia we are missing out on some fall weather. 70’s all week! Like what the heck?

I have been busy crafting up a storm and if you haven’t checked out my Youtube channel for lots of video tutorials this Christmas season, you definitely must. For today I have this really cute ornament DIY made from Dollar Tree items…. and no one would ever know.

Let’s get started.

You will need Dollar Tree pearls, ribbon, wire, large popsicle sticks, a little bit of greenery and berries.

Dollar Tree Ornament 1 Dollar Tree High End Ornament DIY

Take the pearls and feed them through the thick floral wire you can find in Dollar Tree’s floral section. Each of these will use 20 pearls. You can make 2 ornaments with one bag.

Dollar Tree Ornament 2 Dollar Tree High End Ornament DIYWhen you get to the end, leave just enough wire to go in the last pearl. Add hot glue to both ends place the pearl in place. Hold until it dries and your mini wreath is secure.

Dollar Tree Ornament 3 Dollar Tree High End Ornament DIY

Next, take some large popsicle sticks and cut the edges like you see below. This will make the popsicle stick look like a little banner.

Dollar Tree Ornament 4 Dollar Tree High End Ornament DIY

For this next step I used these rub on transfers from Dollar Tree but you can also write words yourself or use a Cricut to personalize the ornaments.

Dollar Tree Ornament 5 Dollar Tree High End Ornament DIY

Add it to the popsicle stick and then adhere it to the wreath with some hot glue. I added small bits of greenery from a greenery bush and added it to the top of the ornament with some hot glue.

Dollar Tree Ornament 6 Dollar Tree High End Ornament DIYI cut some ribbon (this one I got from Hobby Lobby) and added it to the top. The best part about this is you can use any color ribbon to match your decor. I used some rose gold berries after I tied the ribbon.

Dollar Tree Ornament 7 Dollar Tree High End Ornament DIY

You can use the ribbon to hang it on the tree, tie a bow out of it or just let it hang like I did. But that’s it!

And as you can see, it looks good on a green tree.

Dollar Tree Ornament 8 Dollar Tree High End Ornament DIYOr a flocked one…

I have 2 more Dollar Tree ornament DIYs that I think you will like! You can watch them below!

Hello everyone! Hope you are well!

Today is the Look for Less Challenge and it’s the final one of the year. And because it’s the last one for 2020 I decided to do something for the holidays!

Remember when I made my farmhouse inspired Dollar Tree Christmas trees back in 2018? Seems like just yesterday…

Well, I figured it was time to do another tabletop Christmas tree DIY from the Dollar Tree but with a new look!

And this one is just as darling…

I was inspired by this one I saw at Ballard Designs:

Screen Shot 2020 10 13 at 11.38.48 PM Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIYIt came at a whopping $119! 😱 Too much for me to spend on a table top tree, as I am sure some of you will agree.

I thought it was adorable, and a perfect piece to try and recreate. And this time I wanted to make sure I used Dollar Tree items.

First thing I picked up were these gift boxes. They are similar to the ones I used for my Dollar Tree Stocking Hangers

Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIY 1 Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIY

Next, I took some jumbo popsicle sticks and cut them to fit the vertical edges of the box. I used my miter sheers to cut them to size.

They make this job so easy!

Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIY 2 Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIY

I adhered the popsicle sticks to the sides with hot glue. Once I had the vertical pieces in place, I measurde and cut the horizontal ones. One side should look like this:

Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIY 3 Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIY

I repeated this on all sides and once that was done I worked on the “x”.

Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIY 4 Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIYI used the same popsicle sticks for this. First, I placed one across diagonally, measured and cut it. And then I added two smaller ones on the other side.

Once I adhered all of them I painted them with my favorite white chalk paint.

Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIY 5 Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIYAfter all sides were dry I used Rustoleum’s aged glaze and rubbed it all over the box with a lint free cloth.

You may remember this glaze from when I recreated a faux wood candlestick look in this video, however, this time I am actually looking to use it as a glaze.

Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIY 6 Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIY

I used a small artist brush in order to get into all of the crevices to create more depth and shadows like the inspiration piece.

Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIY 7 Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIY

Once I painted all the areas in, I wiped the excess off with a clean lint free cloth.

Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIY 8 Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIYThen I set it aside to dry.

While it was drying I got my little Dollar Tree Christmas tree out.

The inspiration piece had a more full and brown trunk so I added jute around the “trunk” of this one.

Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIY 9 Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIY

I cut individual pieces to use between each of the sets of branches. Then I painted the jute over with brown chalk paint.

Once that was dry, I took some Dollar Tree snow spray and sprayed it outside.

Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIY 10 Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIY

I brought the tree back inside once it was dry and I cut the base of the tree so that it would fit inside of the “crate”. I used pliers and it worked really easy.

Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIY 11 Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIY

Since the tree sat kind of low, I added some floral foam and a piece of wood on the inside of the crate to add height and more stability.

Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIY 12 Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIYI placed the tree back in the crate, added a few more pieces of foam to surround the tree base and covered it all up with Dollar Tree floral moss and I was done!

Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIY 15 Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIYI cannot tell you how happy I was to see the way it turned out.

Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIY 14 Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIY

The tree reminds me of the “Charlie Brown” tree since it is a little sparse, but I love it and I hope to make a second one.

Here’s how I did!

This only cost me $3 since I only had to get the tree, box and faux snow, but it would have cost me $7 if I needed to buy all the supplies to make it. Either way it’s a win-win!

Christmas Tree Dupe Look for Less October 2020 Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIYWhat do you think of this cute dupe? I really do love that little crate and how it turned out and I hope you do too!

Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIY 16 Dollar Tree Flocked Christmas Tree DIYI would love it if you would share this with a friend or pin it on Pinterest and I will see you in the next one!

Until then… adios!

Over 15 Christmas DIY’s

15 Christmas DIYs Over 15 Christmas DIYs

Over 15 Christmas DIY’s

Oh happy day! In honor of Christmas in July I thought I would post a roundup of some of my favorite Christmas DIYs that I have done in the past. I look forward to Christmas this year. With 2020 being as crazy as it has been I am so ready for hope and joy and love and everything that Christmas always brings forth.

Especially Christ.

It’s a time when people are kinder and happier and believe me we need so much more of that in this world right now. So Christmas cannot come fast enough for me.

Who’s with me!?

I know you are, so I’m sharing this list of over 15 Christmas DIY’s that I think you will enjoy…

1.

Dollar Tree Glam Christmas Candleholders

4 4 Over 15 Christmas DIYs

This was is an oldie, but a goodie and by far one of my most popular posts on the blog. I made this from Dollar Tree items and some decals I purchased at Hobby Lobby. While the exact decals may not be available at Hobby Lobby anymore, I did see some that were almost exactly the same at Big Lots this past Christmas so be on the look out for them. They may just come back!

2.

Dollar Tree Farmhouse Christmas Trees

DIY Dollar Tree Christmas Decor 13 Over 15 Christmas DIYs

This is another fave and is my number one Christmas DIY of all time. I love these 2 little Christmas trees and how they turned out. They are simple but perfectly festive for any farmhouse themed Christmas decor.

3.

Dollar Tree (Functional) Stocking Hangers

Dollar Tree DIY Stocking Hangers 2 Over 15 Christmas DIYs

Okay so I may have lied a little. This might tie my Dollar Tree Christmas Tree for first place. I am still in love with these as much as I was the day I made them. There are so many stocking hanger DIY’s made from DT items, but none of them really “work” because they don’t weigh enough. I solved that with these hangers and they look stunning.

4.

DIY Letterboard Countdown Ornament

DIY Letterboard Christmas Countdown Ornament Over 15 Christmas DIYs

I made this cute little ornament when letter boards were all the rage? Are they still in? Not sure. Anyways, I made this ornament from some small pieces of wood and added my actual letters from my larger letter board to create the words.

5.

Thrifted Candleholder Rustic Centerpiece

Thrifted Christmas Centerpiece 1 Over 15 Christmas DIYs

I originally made this centerpiece for the $5 Goodwill challenge hosted by Hilary at Old World Home on YouTube and then shared it here alongside another group of bloggers. I see metal candleholders at Goodwill all the time and I challenged myself to make something beautiful out of this one. By the way that burlap box is a complete DIY… you won’t believe what it’s made out of.

6.

Dollar Tree Berry Ornament

This was an ornament that I thought up of on a whim, and it came out even better than I had envisioned. It’s so easy to make yet, really looks like a well thought out piece of Christmas decor.

7.

DIY Christmas Place Holder

Dollar Tree Christmas Village

Dollar Tree Farmhouse Fall Christmas DIYs Over 15 Christmas DIYs

This DIY is more versatile. As you can see you can make decor for Fall or a cute Christmas village and I made these by using the little house shaped shadow boxes at Dollar Tree. As a matter of fact I only have 5 of those houses total and I made them interchangeable. The possibilities are endless with this one!

10.

Fun Woodland Animals

DIY Dollar Tree Christmas Woodland Animals 13 Over 15 Christmas DIYs

This one is more whimsical, but it’s a great project you can make with your kiddos for Christmas. My daughter Natalia helped me make these and I even have patterns you can print out making this even easier to recreate.

11.

Simple Farmhouse Holiday Wreath

DIY Farmhouse Holiday Wreath 8 Over 15 Christmas DIYs

This little wreath is smaller in size and can be left out all year long, but with the perfect red and white ribbon it looks super festive for the holidays. Even better is that it will cost you no more than $3 to make!

12.

Mini Farmhouse Sign Ornaments

Mini Farmhouse Sign Ornament Over 15 Christmas DIYs

I love farmhouse signs and if you do too, then you will love making miniature versions as ornaments. The best thing about them is you can make your very own design for them and you don’t need a silhouette or cameo to do so!

13.

Hot Cocoa Bar

Something fun you can create for the holidays is a mini cocoa station. I have seen huge bars, but if you don’t have the space you can definitely create one out of a tiered tray!

DIY Farmhouse Christmas Placeholder

*Some of the links below are affiliate links, please see full disclosure here*

Hello everyone!

I hope you are all doing well and have gotten quite a bit of Christmas shopping done already. The hubby and I went out today to shop for a few things and it was really nice – we don’t get to go out without the kids often. Just got a couple more gifts to get and we will be done!

You probably know already, but if you don’t I am doing a giveaway on my Youtube channel and today is the last day to enter. So if you want to know what it’s about and how to enter, definitely check it out.

Frankly, I have been feeling the Christmas blues. Since the carpet dilemma and me going to the hospital and finding thing after thing underneath the old carpets (and my house being a complete disaster with boxes and furniture piled high…) I am just not feeling the Christmas spirit.

I have an 1/8 of the amount of Christmas decor up and I am just feeling down about not having a perfectly Christmas-ready home… especially since this is my favorite time of year. I have been beyond frustrated.

I just want floors for Christmas!

Yes, my husband ripped out the floors and documented the whole thing and now we are walking on subfloors. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Send help!

It’s been a rough few weeks.

However, in the attempt to get myself in the spirit of things, I decided to do a little DIY, which is why you are here of course.

I saw these cute ornaments in the Christmas ornament craft section as Hobby Lobby and I just had to get them. I got 2 packs at 50% off of course.

DIY Farmhouse Christmas Placeholder Supplies:

  • Hot Glue
  • Wood Tint – Walnut
  • Galvanized Christmas Tree Ornaments
  • Tumbling Blocks from Dollar Tree
  • Ribbon
  • Cardstock or Posterboard
  • Stamps/Ink (optional)
  • Snowflake clip (optional)
  • Hole punch (optional)

RELATED: DIY CHRISTMAS BUFFALO CHECK T-SHIRT

I took them out of the packaging and removed their jute strings.

Then I got some tumbling blocks from the Dollar Tree and proceeded to stain them using my favorite wood tint in Walnut (I love it cause it’s water-based and I can use it indoors in the winter because it doesn’t have a strong odor like regular stain).

I had 8 trees so I needed 16 blocks.

DIY Farmhouse Christmas Placeholders 2 DIY Farmhouse Christmas Placeholder

Once dry, I hot-glued them together.

DIY Farmhouse Christmas Placeholders 3 DIY Farmhouse Christmas Placeholder

They look like little benches.

DIY Farmhouse Christmas Placeholders 4 DIY Farmhouse Christmas Placeholder

I added hot glue to the back of the “benches” and glued the trees on.

RELATED: DIY Dollar Tree Farmhouse Christmas Trees

DIY Farmhouse Christmas Placeholders 5 DIY Farmhouse Christmas Placeholder

You could do the next step differently and even print these out, but I decided to use these cute stamps from Michael’s that I got for 99 cents in order to label some placeholders.

DIY Farmhouse Christmas Placeholders 6 DIY Farmhouse Christmas Placeholder

And I stamped away! This was actually fun! I can’t remember the last time I stamped anything like this (of course, you would add your guest’s names on the tag, but for the purpose of the post, I just used the word “guest”).

I then needed to punch a hole in the cardstock… you can use a regular hole punch or something a litte fancier.

DIY Farmhouse Christmas Placeholders 7 DIY Farmhouse Christmas Placeholder

I attached the tag to the Christmas tree with a ribbon and tied a bow.

DIY Farmhouse Christmas Placeholders 8 DIY Farmhouse Christmas Placeholder

And voila! Instant place holder.

DIY Farmhouse Christmas Placeholders 14 DIY Farmhouse Christmas Placeholder

Your guests will love them so much they’ll probably want to take them home (which is not a bad idea).

Now, if ribbons aren’t your thing, you can use a snowflake (like this below).

I had a garland from Dollar Tree with these snowflakes on mini clothespins and I just took them off the garland.

DIY Farmhouse Christmas Placeholders 10 DIY Farmhouse Christmas Placeholder

And put them on the trees! Can’t get any easier than that, amiriiiiight?

DIY Farmhouse Christmas Placeholders 13 DIY Farmhouse Christmas Placeholder

Of course the best part about the snowflake is that you can use it all winter long!

Simple yet farmhouse chic! Love these little guys.

At least crafting got me in a little bit of the Christmas spirit. I wish I had as much to share as last year, but time is running out and most of my stuff is still packed.

I’d love to know what you all think of these little placeholders! I made a set of 8 for well under $10 which I think is great.

Don’t forget to PIN this for later and share with your friends !

How to Make Flan

How to Make Flan new How to Make Flan

Hello again! There are only 15 days left until Christmas… I have no idea where the time goes.

Can we please slow it down??? 👵🏻

The kids and I have been soaking up some Christmas cheer by watching Christmas movies. By the way, have you seen my Ultimate Christmas Movie List? I think it’s time I update it, but there are some goodies in there, like my all time favorite Christmas movie – National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation.

It never gets old. Throw in a crazy cousin, stuck-up miserable neighbors and an evil squirrel and that is my kind of Christmas right there. LOL!

And what better way to watch a great Christmas movie than by sitting on the couch enjoying one of your favorite desserts. Mine is flan. Flan is a popular creamy custard dessert made throughout all of Latin America and there are many versions of it. My mother has her version and I have my own.

And I truly believe I have the smoothest version of it… just sayin’!

How to Make Flan, Perfect Recipe for the Holidays! – Click to Tweet

So if you want to learn how to make flan, get your tastebuds ready because this dessert is super sweet!

Ingredients:

Flan:

  • 5 eggs
  • 1/2 cup of sugar
  • 1 can of condensed milk
  • 1 can of evaporated milk
  • 1 tbsp of vanilla

Caramel:

  • 1 cup of sugar

You want to start by making your caramel. Melt sugar in a small sauce pan until it turns golden brown. Then coat the entire bottom of your pan. I used a round 9×9 pan. Be careful, it is hot!

Watch the detailed video instructions on my YouTube channel or at the end of this post. ⬇️

Next you want to combine all of your flan ingredients in a blender and blend about 30 seconds to 1 minutes, just until everything is well mixed. Do NOT over mix. This will make the flan too dense.

5 1 How to Make Flan

Poor mix into your pan. You will need to bake this in a water bath.

6 1 How to Make Flan

Pour hot water into the bath after you pour the mixture.

7 How to Make Flan

Stick in the oven at 350 degrees for 1 hour.

Once you remove it from the oven. Give it a bit to sit on the counter and cool down before removing it. You still want it rather warm though when you do. Be sure to use a knife to “unstick” it from the sides. The caramel underneath acts as a barrier between the flan and the pan so it will come right out.

3 1 How to Make Flan

Let it cool some more before placing it into the fridge. You want to leave it at least 4 hours in the fridge or overnight so that it gets completely cold and then serve!
