Happy month of March! I am actually a little excited about this post, because I am currently working on livening up my home. I have been thinking of new ways to decorate and add new touches to liven up the house that would not only be practical, but appealing as far as design.
This year’s Pantone color of the year is greenery, and if you know me, you would know that I love blues, grays and whites. However, I think this is the prefect way to add new pops of color throughout the home that can be easily removed as the seasons change.
Plus it’s March, which means St. Patrick’s Day… which means… green so why not!
The first thing I would do is keep things practical. I don’t use the color green much around the house so I would make sure that I would add it to where I could remove it without being too inconvenient.
A good way to start is simply by adding more plants to your home. And I just love this fiddle leaf fig. I have a really small one at home, but I am dying to get one this big. Whether or not you want this to be a real plant is up to you, but you can find beautiful large options in both.
Next I would change up my pillow covers and these embroidered ones are gorgeous! And you know how much I like pillow covers. This is definitely a change you can implement quickly and inexpensively.

And dare I say we go crazy practical…. a good way to use the color green is by adding a pop of color with storage bins. You need them anyway, right? Might as well have them look good too!
I think this tray table is another great option. It too serves as a practical piece but it can make a statement in a room with more neutral colors. Plus it’s a bargain and not to mention you can even use it as a hot cocoa bar for the holidays. It would look great with accents of holiday red.
Looking for a fun new setting at the dinner table? I think these white and green leaf dishes are super simple yet classy. You can use them for Easter and/or fun outdoor dinners on the deck throughout the summer.
Another decorative piece you can add is a simple vase (or 2). This would look great on a mantle alongside other touches of green or filled with fresh flowers as a centerpiece. And I love that gold band for an extra touch of bling.
Another one of my favorite ways I like to add pops of color is by buying my appliances in fun colors (I have a hand-held mixer in red). Consider getting any new appliances like this KitchenAid in this fun color. It is sure to brighten your space.
And since you won’t use it often you can always put it away when you change the decor.
And finally you can take this color outside by incorporating it in your outdoor furniture. This super fun umbrella is sure to make warm days outside even more pleasant over the summer.

The best part about these options is that they are not permanent in any way and pretty much all of them are practical so you can feel less guilty about giving your home a refresh!
How do you like the Pantone color of the year? What would you do with it? I’d love to know!
